The student is responsible:
(1) To Solve prepared tasks on each laboratory work.
(2) To be present during laboratory works - two absence are acceptable
(3) As a member of the team will create three projects deals basic information system using DBS under his choice from the prepared offers.
- Data model and Normalization (max. 15 + 5 points)
- Normalization of the Data model(max. 15 points)
- The basic Information system (max. 25 points, min)
(maximum is 60 points - minimum 31 points)
(4) To pass two checking test. Each for 20 points. (min. 24 points, max. 40 points).



Final assessment /evaluation:
The student is responsible to fulfill all defined requirements during the semester. The exam will continue by test, where is possible receive 100 points.
Additional points are possible to gain during the oral exam if the student received in the test at least 61 points.
The complex sum of points aggregate results from exercises and exam from the final test.

Course outcomes:
Student could understand:
- Principles of Database systems.
- Database systems design.
- Data modeling.
- Data definition and data manipulation language.
Student receive the practise with Master work with the particular database system.
Course scheme:
Lectures: Basic concepts. Database systems architecture. Entity-Relationship model. Relational DBS. Relational integrity. Relational algebra. Normal forms (1NF, 2NF, 3NF, BCNF). Introduction to SQL. Data manipulation in SQL. Introduction to Transaction management. Cursors.

Laboratory work: Creating of information system on existing DBS. Creating of database, tables and data types. Creating simple and multitable forms. SQL statements – INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, SELECT. Creating reports and menus. Application of triggers, procedures, views. Masters work with specific database system.
