[3DT] 3D printing

Main objectives of the course:

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the process of designing a 3D model suitable for implementation on a 3D printer. The creation of 3D models will be taught in the Fusion 360 environment. 3D designs will be realized using 3D printers in the 3D printing laboratory.

Course outcomes:
The aim of the course is to introduce students with the process of designing a 3D model suitable for implementation on a 3D printer. The creation of 3D models will be taught in the Fusion 360 environment. 3D designs will be realized using 3D printers in the 3D printing laboratory.
Course scheme:
Lectures:The content of the lectures is to present students with the possibilities and the very process of design and production of 3D models. The aim is to create a basis for independent work during exercises under the guidance of a teacher.
Week 1: Introduction to the theory of 3D printingWeek 2: TinkerCad -a quick and easy way to create a 3D modelWeek 3: Technical equipment of 3D printing, control code for 3D printing, software for generating control codes 4.-6. week: Introduction to 3D modeling in Fusion 360 softwareWeek 7: Materials for 3D printing 8.-11. Week: Advanced 3D modeling methods in Fusion 360 software 12.-13. week: Current technologies in 3D printing. Summary and free discussion.
Exercises (L): During the semester, students will work independently on assignments under the guidance of a teacher. They will create 3D models suitable for 3D printing. They will get acquainted with the process of model production on a 3D printer by practical implementation of their designs. 1.-3. week: Individual work on assignment 1. 4.-6. week: Individual work on assignment 2. 7.-9. week: Individual work on assignment 3. 10.-12. week: Individual work on assignment 4.
