Course outcomes: After completing the course, the student will gain knowledge of communication solutions extending the basic architecture of TCP / IP networks. The student will know the principles of activities, protocols and services of these solutions. The student will theoretically know the issues of their security and will be able to apply basic security policies. The student will gain knowledge and skills associated with the basic configuration and management of network devices. The student will encounter the solution of practical tasks associated with the provision of downloaded communication services.
Course scheme: Lectures: - Development in the field of network architectures (client / server and Peer-to-Peer), economic and technical prerequisites for "All-IP" networks. Layered model of IP networks - IPv6 as the successor to IPv4. Aspects of IPv6 and IPv4 interconnection of the world - Basics of network application programming - TCP / IP sockets - Security of IP networks. Principles, tasks and functions of network security (integrity, authenticity, encryption). Security and safety in TCP / IP architecture - application in layers. Application layer security (HTTPS). Transport layer security (SSL / TLS). IP network layer security (IPsec). Line layer security (WiFi, EAP / EAPOL, MACsec). Operational safety (FW and IDS) - IP network services. Multimedia in IP networks and IMP protocols. Multicast and group communication - How to get online? Access networks: mobile / wireless and fixed - Backbone networks (Carrier Ethernet, MPLS) - Internet of Things (IoT) - Development trends (SDN, network programability) - Virtualization and Cloud Exercises: Laboratory exercises will be devoted to the use of knowledge from lectures and literature studies to solve practical tasks in the laboratory (service configuration, configuration of network parameters of IP devices, TCP / IP and socket programming, configuration and testing of network traffic, network analysis, etc.).
