The main goal of this bachelor’s thesis is to design a curriculum for classes at the Department of Information Networks incorporating practical usage of SDN emulator Mininet to better understand the fundamentals of the SDN technology and OpenFlow protocol. Theoretical part of this thesis analyzes current state of the SDN technology, its education at the Department of Information Networks and worldwide as well, the structure, architecture, principles and protocols used in this technology focusing on OpenFlow protocol. The middle part of the thesis describes the most popular SDN emulators and analyzes Mininet emulator including Open vSwitch implemented in this emulator. Practical part contains design, realization, verification and specific documentation of curriculum based on Mininet emulator suggested for classes at the Department of Information Networks.
