[Bachelor Thesis] / Adrián Tomáň – University of Žilina, Faculty of Management Science and Informatics, Department of Information Networks. – Supervisor: Ing. Martin Kontšek, PhD. – Degree of professional qualification: Bachelor’s in information and network technologies. Žilina: FRI UZ in Žilina, 2024. – 69 p.The aim of the presented bachelor thesis is to provide a detailed analysis and comparison of available tools for the automation of network devices configuration, with a special focus on Ansible, Chef, Saltstack, and Puppet. The theoretical part is dedicated to an overview of existing tools and the identification of key factors that influence the choice of the most suitable solution for the specific needs of an organization, such as ease of implementation, support for various platforms, community support availability, and expansion possibilities. The practical part focuses on the demonstration of the chosen tool, Ansible, through a series of experiments conducted in a controlled testing environment. The results of the work illustrate how the automation of network devices configuration through Ansible leads to the efficiency of network management, reducing the likelihood of errors due to human factors, and allows for faster deployment and updates of configurations.
